“Art is the slippery play between subject and object” – Deborah Mangrum-Price

I am immersed in the slippery play between the role of subject and object in my art. In a crush of feelings, cultures and materials, I work to permeate these worlds with personally acquired symbols. Some symbols may be interpreted by the viewer as universal and indeed at times resonate to a gender specific tune. By directing the shifting views within the documentation process, I am determined to maintain an illusory ambiguity to the point that we often don’t really know what we are viewing. If the perspective and the framing change so does the relationship to the visual narrative.
